Today we had a facebook live video that illustrated how we weld the fill necks for our GC Series tanks. This is a video that we made separate from the live feed which you can see on our Facebook page here. We've taken an older Miller wire feeder and converted it to hold the fill neck and the 1/4 turn bung in place while we weld the two together with a slow rotation. Works great and we get a fantastic weld.
Recently we had a customer who wanted to insert the lift flush with his shop floor. He provided us some great feedback on how he did it and how it worked out. He built a custom insert pan which we then poured concrete to fit precisely. The pan even included a floor drain in the event fluids got into the pan or he was going to use the lift to wash and clean his bike. As you can see in the photos, he routed his hose through the floor and attached his control foot valve to the wall.
Since the lift sits about 7 1/2" off the floor, by insetting it to be flush the working height is reduced by the 7 1/2"; however HMC lifts all raise to a impressive 40" so this allows plenty of height when installed flush with the floor.
If you are planning to build a new shop and want your lifts flush with the floor, let us know and we'd be glad to help you with dimensions and plans!
The other day I stumbled on a nice review on one of the BMW forums. You can find the review at here:
This particular customer has done a very nice and fair review of our SL-3086 lift and provided several quality photos of him using our lift to service his bikes. We always appreciate customers sharing their thoughts about our products.... especially when they are such a positive review! LOL Of course, not everyone is always 100% happy... while that's our goal, I'm sure we've had someone upset with us. But, at HMC, we strive to meet our customer's expectations on every product we sell. If you have posted a review that you'd like to share with us, please don't hesitate to send us a link via email so we can post it to our blog.
Just picked up the first 10 Veteran Special Edition lift tops! Can't wait to get them on a frame and show everyone! These babies are a tribute to the worlds' baddest military from the worlds' best lift company!
Enjoying a 2 day project in Iowa City at the Iowa State Extension office learning about Google Analytics and how that will help us know what content our customers want to see and how we can improve giving them better information. Thank you to CIRAS for putting on this boot camp!

We constantly sell product to new and interesting customers. The latest that caught my attention was an order through our friends at #NorthernTool. This order was going to a great program in California called Vallecito Camp CalFire. California helps to reduce the inmate population by offerinq qualified inmates the opportunity to work forest fires under the supervision of the California department #Calfire. Here is a nice artical about how the program works. http://archive2.capradio.org/articles/2013/05/21/fire-camps-key-to-reducing-prison-overcrowding/
According to several articles across the website, including http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2014/09/article/honda-issues-recall-on-126000-gold-wings/ Honda has a significant recall going on for their popular #Goldwing #GL1800 motorcycles. If you are a #Honda Service dealer and need a strong lift to handle those big bikes, check out HMC's SL-30 Series lifts. If your service work includes the Honda Goldwing Trikes, check out the SL-30W Trike Edition which includes 3 Ramps, the 4 Side Extensions, and our industry leading SL-30 Air Lift with a 1,200 lb capacit and a 30" wide x 90" long table.
We have already had several customers order our heavy duty lifts for this particular service work as our competitors have had trouble folding the tops from the weight. HMC's detent bar is engineered to support the heavy load of a trike, spyder, atv, or utv. Our detent bar does not load the table, instead it is attached at the frame...relieving that stress on the table which causes some lifts to fold. In addition, an HMC lift has fully boxed support tubes both horizontally and vertically under the table and a removable top support bar which supports the top where the rear drop out is cut from the table.
You can't buy a stronger and more heavy duty lift MADE IN AMERICA by HMC Industries. For years, shops have had only one option when it came to buying quality service lifts; we've given you that second option for quality...just give us a chance to prove it. Give us a call and let us tell you more about the new HMC SL-Series Air Lifts.
I can't believe how long it's been since we've posted on our blog...just goes to show how busy we've been developing new products. At this time we've finally figured out the wood needed for those pesty pallets for our lifts. I'm sorry for some of the delays many have experienced, we just didn't want to ship any of our awesome lifts and then have them get to our fabulous customers all beat up. The last set we shipped 2 weeks ago all arrived in MINT condition with our customers very happy with them. So if you have a lift on order, we are processing them as quickly as possible and you should see them any day....as always we will email you when your lift ships with carrier information and then follow up to make sure all went well.
Wow! I can't believe how busy we've been building the best fuel caddies in the world. Our back order of nearly 200 units over the last few months has finally processed through our system and 99% are back to normal lead times. We are still back ordered on our popular FST-15 Fuel Stations, but those should get filled by the first of March, just in time for all our landscapper friends to have the best way to transport their fuel to keep their mowers cutting grass!
